The Lighting, the FirePlace … and the TV

When having an interior photographed tip. It is important having someone familiar on where and how to turn lights on/off /dim, these can be quite sophisticated and obviously affects the ambience of the room. All table and floor lamps should generally be “on” during the shoot so they should all have working bulbs, especially those with three way bulbs.

If there is a gas fireplace become familiar on how to turn it on and check the damper. Also if there is a flat screen tv in the room then sometimes it cannot be avoided in the final image. Know how and which remote to use because often having the tv “on”  is a better option then having a big black rectangle in the final image
